The Diipone Engine

Question banks run out. Our engine doesn't.

We built our own question engine instead of licensing a bank. Every question is parameterised: numbers, contexts and figures are rolled from a seed, and the memo is derived with them. Learners practise the same skill on endless fresh instances — and teachers can prove where every answer came from.

Which of the following are integers? A) −126 B) 0,1666… C) 40 D) 15-\tfrac{1}{5} E) 0,9

  1. A) −126 (a negative whole number — an integer ✓)
  2. B) 0,1666… (a recurring decimal, not a whole number — not an integer ✗)
  3. 3C) 40 (a positive whole number — an integer ✓)
This is a whole number (even when it is disguised as a root sign or as zero) with no fractional part — an integer.

For builders

Every question has a URL

Inspect any tile in the playground and copy its canonical API call. The same seed always returns the same question — as structured JSON for your app, or as a rendered card or bare figure in SVG and PNG.

A moderation-ready exam in one click

Pick a grade and a paper size — the composer assembles topics, counts and marks so the paper lands on the DBE's prescribed cognitive-level weightings and difficulty spread. Turn on Must meet CAPS targets and it keeps refining until no moderation row is flagged.

  • Every paper ships with the analysis grid moderators ask for
  • Reroll any single question, or pin it to a specific sub-type
  • Full memo derived with the paper — print both in one go

FAQ

Questions, answered

Something else on your mind? Ask via Diipone Academy.

Yes. Questions are parameterised templates: numbers, contexts and figures are rolled from a seed, and the memo is derived with them. Every new seed is a new paper.

Every topic is mapped to its CAPS grade, exam paper and cognitive level. Grade 8 Mathematics has the deepest coverage today, with grades 9–12 growing.

Teachers and tutors who need fresh practice material, parents supporting learners at home, and platforms that want to build on the question API.

It's free while in preview. It's built by Diipone Academy, the affordable CAPS online school — longer-term plans will be announced there.

Yes. The exam composer picks topics, counts and marks so the paper matches the DBE's cognitive-level weightings and difficulty guideline, and prints the analysis grid (test blueprint) moderators check papers against. A strict mode keeps refining until no row is flagged.

Yes — the engine is subject- and curriculum-agnostic. More CAPS subjects are next, and other curricula and countries are on the roadmap.

The site is available in English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sepedi, Sesotho and Setswana, plus Filipino and Cebuano. Practice questions are generated in English and Afrikaans — the languages CAPS Mathematics is taught and examined in; DepEd MATATAG Mathematics is taught in English, so it is covered too. As more curricula are added, questions will follow the languages those curricula are taught in.
